Scripture: Hebrews 4:15 – For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.
Observation: Temptation is such a difficult thing at times because it can be subtle or it can be gradual.
Application: Knowing that Jesus was tempted in every way but did not sin shows me that he was fully God as well as fully man, because I have been tempted plenty and I have plenty of sin to go with that temptation. It is not easy living in a world where sin has become very prevalent and our poor youth thinks it’s the norm.
I want to challenge myself to look at everything I do and use the old adage “What Would Jesus Do?”, because quite frankly it works. Jesus was tempted in EVERY WAY, not just some ways, he knows that we are weak and that we need his new mercies everyday. I am so excited to know that my God can empathize with me and say been there, didn’t do that, but if you do, I forgive you and I give you grace.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you that you can relate to my temptations and know what I am going through because you came here and experienced life in a human shell. It is beyond comprehension the love that you have for me, but I am grateful nonetheless. Lord help me to remember on a daily basis WWJD and Lord please forgive me of my sins and failures. You God are awesome and I love you.
