Scripture: Hebrews 6:19 – We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
Observation: God is my anchor and my hope
Application: I love how our hope is compared to an anchor on a ship as it floats on the seabed keeping the ship secure. An anchor described by Webster is:
a reliable or principal support : mainstay
something that serves to hold an object firmly
I love the thought that Jesus has a firm hold on me and will never let me go. When I have troubles or trials, the word of God is my principal support! Jesus is my mainstay!!
The word of God not only teaches and encourages us but it also has the unique promise of Christ, a life of eternity with the anchor of our souls. All we have to do is accept Him. That’s it, it is so simple and people try to make it so complex, God never lies, he is always truthful and if he tells us our salvation is through Christ Jesus alone, shouldn’t we accept it and live it?
Prayer: Jesus I accepted you a long time ago and I want to reaffirm my acceptance right now, I pray for the forgiveness of my sins and I pray that from this moment on I will remember YOU are the anchor of my soul, YOU are my salvation, WE will see each other face to face. Praise your holy name!!
