My theme song is God’s love and justice, and I’m singing it right to you, God. I’m finding my way down the road of right living, but how long before you show up? I’m doing the very best I can, and I’m doing it at home, where it counts. (Psalm 101:1-2)
Do you have a song you set on repeat? That song that you choose every time you sit down to devotions? For me right now that song is “Oceans” on the Zion album by United. There is a line that takes my breath away,
“You call me out upon the waters. The great unknown where feet may fail. And there I find You in the mystery. In oceans deep. My faith will stand.”
When reading the passage out of Psalms this morning it reminded me of that song. Our life is a song and God wants us to sing it to Him! This is not dependent upon our music ability or the tone of our voice. Rather if our lives were transposed into song, what type of theme would it be? I don’t know about you, I desire it to be a theme song of faith and new found hope in the pursuit of Jesus.
Can you hear it in the psalmist voice when he declares that he is living right, but how much longer till God shows up. How often do we look at our lives and say “really”? Really God I am doing all the right things but where are you? I too have said that many times. When I don’t see the results that I believe should be reality because of my efforts. The truth is that God will lead us “where our feet may fail”. So that every time our faith will grow. For faith to florish the possibility of failure will forever increase.
I pray that my faith would flourish. That my ability to fight through failure. To see the world the way The Lord sees it. Bless HOPE today. May thee ogle of HOPE see Jesus today.
