Don't sit back when the ship is sinking

1 Timothy 3:5, “For if a man cannot manage his own  household how can he take care of God’s church?”

WOW! It’s going to be a new season in the Zile household. We are eagerly expecting Lennox, our third little lady, sometime here in August. I’ve been told by a number of different people that the third child is the most challenging because you have two hands. I am looking forward to this challenge and thank you Jesus in our house we have about four extra hands so momma don’t have to go it alone. With this new season of life comes excitment, joy, freaking out, the unknown, the known of how to raise a little lady or at least until she’s six.

There also comes an overwhelming feeling of Jesus where are you taking us. In my life at these points I’ve been there for my wife but have eventually drawn back and retreated because of this overwhelmed feeling. I do what ever man does in his own way retreated and not lead his family. Forgetting that Jesus has created me for this, he has created me to lead my girls, to lead my family, to lead the church. to lead the sales job, to lead. I was created to do this. I WAS CREATED TO LEAD!! The last two times I have retreated, oh not this time, this time I’m putting on my gloves and fighting for everything that Jesus has blessed me with.

In 2009 a good friend prayed this over me, “You are called not to be a MAINTENANCE man, but to be a man of VISION.” I’m not called to sit back and maintain, but called to push forward.  It’s like when a boat begins to sink do you sit back and just let it sink, no after you freak for a second something takes over and you begin to work hard to save that ship. We will do everything we can to keep the ship up right or to get the people to safety. So here I go, I’ve freaked for a second and now I’m ready to keep my ship from sinking. I’m not called to sit back and let it sink, I’m called to do everything I can to keep that boat a float or save the passanger’s. I must lead my family first, and then the rest will follow.

Jesus bless this next season of life and help me to keep my eyes on you and not the situations around me that seem to want to sink that ship. I’m so thankful for you in my life, for blessing me with an amazing wife and daughters. Give me the strength to carry on and lead my home. You’ve created me for this, so I surrender to you and say lead me to lead my family, the church, and the world around me. You’re amazing, I love you, Thank you! AMEN
