Some Pharisees from the crowd told him, “Teacher, get your disciples under control!” But he said, “If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise.” (Luke 19:39, 40 MSG)
As Jesus entered Jerusalm he was getting the reception he should of had all the times before. People were shouting, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest” (Luke 19:38 NIV)! Naturally the other church leaders got nervous and asked for Jesus to calm the crowd down. I love his response. It is a lot like the lyrics from a song by Macklemore.,
Can we go back, this is the momentTonight is the night, we’ll fight ’til it’s overSo we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold usLike the ceiling can’t hold us
When the ceiling of discouragment and doubt hit my soul. When the enemy wants to keep me quiet may I respond the same way. Raise my hands up and fight ‘til it’s over! Worship with my life!
Jesus thank you for the life I get to live for you. May I never be “under control”. Bless my bride today, speak deep to her soul. Bless my kids today lead me to love them. I pray today that HOPE hears your voice and FOLLOWS hard after you.
