Good morning HOPE!
So…… I’m studying for an exam that I’m (consistently lol) unprepared for, and working on an essay question that describes the differences of the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit, and I come across a section that emphasizes that there is only one fruit: LOVE. There is Love and all the other characteristics described in Galatians are facets of love.
What blessed me (and what I want to share) was an excerpt from a book from Dwight Moody that goes into detail about the facets of love:
- Joy is love exulting
- Peace is love reposing
- Longsuffering is love untiring
- Gentleness is love enduring
- Goodness is love in action
- Faith is love on the Battlefield
- Meekness is love under discipline
- Temperance is love in training
what a great list to reflect on today! I encourage you to think on this, and show it to your children. Explain the value of love to them and go over the different characteristics that complete the definition of godly love. Work with yourself, your spouse, your kids to slowly put this into practice.
Have a GREAT day!
