Scripture:  Colossians 1:13-14 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins

Observation: How lucky are we to have our eyes opened to the Light of the World and to stand out of the darkness.

Application:  Before I was saved I never realized I lived in a dark world.  Now that I know the love of our God and the sacrifice that his Son made on my behalf, I see darkness all around me and it makes me sad.

When I say darkness, I am referring to the things that God has opened my eyes to in this world, the struggles of human nature, the evil others inflict on each other in the name of God, a lost and dying world.

I know that I can’t fix anyone and I can’t make decisions for people but what I can do is pray on their behalf.  God came to this world to save ALL, not just an elite few.  I personally do not want to see anyone’s time expire before they know the loving redemption of Christ.

Prayer: Lord, as I walk in the light of your love, help me to remember that there are people who don’t know you and who are continually searching for something better. I pray for those people, but I also pray that I can set an example of what the love of Christ is and I pray that the longer I live the more YOU pours out of me and less of me exists.
