Scripture: Phillipians 1:12 – Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.
Observation: Have you ever wondered why certain things happen to certain people and you say, “oh that is awful”, “I can’t believe it happened to them”, or “they are such great God followers”.
Application: I am convinced that this scripture describes my very good friend Faith and others like her. I have heard her testimony a few times and each time she says, she wouldn’t change a thing.
She was in a car accident at the age of 17 and has not been able to walk ever since. However, you wouldn’t know it because I can hardly keep up with that girl. She is simply put, amazing, she did not let this accident take her down to a dark side, she absolutely positively uses it to advance the gospel, by singing worship, following Gods lead, writing books, and her positive attitude is very contagious. Whenever I think I have it bad or something isn’t worth it, I think of her and her ability to shine so that men will see her good works and glorify her Father in heaven.
I have another friend who has a child with autism, same story, this woman is amazing and her child will be amazing because of her.
Remember to look around at your circumstances, were you there to further the advance the gospel? Don’t miss it, take it by the horns and run with it. God gave it to you.
Prayer: Lord, please help to remember in situations that I would rather not be in, you put me there to advance you and the cause of Christ. Help me to shine and give you the Glory in all situations. I love you Lord and thank you for giving me friends who show me that diversity is nothing when you have Jesus!!
